The Nigerian Institute of Energy, Electrical and Electronics Engineers (NIEEEE), a Division of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), has inaugurated its 23rd National Chairman and Executive Committee for the 2026/2027 administration, with the President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Ali Alimasuya Rabiu, FNSE, F.ASCE, FAEng, MFR, charging the new leadership to work towards the development and advancement of the Division.
Performing the inauguration at the National Engineering Centre, Abuja, Engr. Rabiu urged the newly inaugurated National Chairman, Engr. Alkali Abba Tijjani, FNSE and members of the Executive Committee to provide purposeful leadership that would strengthen the Division and enhance its contributions to the engineering profession and national development.
The NSE President stressed the importance of unity, professionalism and innovation in advancing the objectives of the Institute, expressing confidence that the new leadership possessed the capacity to move the Division to greater heights.
In his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated National Chairman, Engr. Tijjani, expressed appreciation to members of the Institute for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to justify the trust by providing inclusive and result-oriented leadership.
He promised to lift the Division to greater heights through effective collaboration, capacity development, promotion of professional excellence and initiatives that would strengthen the role of energy, electrical and electronics engineers in Nigeria’s development.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Governor of Borno State, Engr. Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, FNSE, mni, represented by Engr. Mohammed Kabiru Wanori, FNSE, expressed delight at being part of the inauguration ceremony and congratulated Engr. Tijjani on his election as the 23rd National Chairman of the Institute.
The Governor noted that the election reflected Engr. Tijjani’s commitment, character and dedication to the engineering profession, expressing confidence in his ability to provide effective leadership for the Division. He further stated that engineering remains a profession dedicated to providing practical solutions for national development and urged the new Executive Committee to remain focused on initiatives that would promote technological advancement and sustainable development in Nigeria.
